Weekend with Year One
God’s healing presence is manifested as we open ourselves to the nurturing love and transforming power of God in our lives and for our world. Participants will be invited to engage in his or her own work of healing: transforming those deep wounds and painful hurts which limit intimacy with God and relationship with one other.

Spiritual Formation Classes

Kairos offers a three-year program that meets on weekends, once a month from September through May:

Year One - Drawing Near to God
Year One of Kairos School of Spiritual Formation provides a guided group experience introducing the spiritual disciplines of solitude, silence, prayer, meditating with Scripture, journaling, and shared experience.

Year Two - Prayer and the Contemplative Life
Year Two offers class input, discussion, group prayer, and plenty of solitude time to learn about and practice many kinds of prayer and to explore how our spiritual journey affects the real world of everyday life.

Year Three - Deepening Prayer: Putting on the Mind of Christ
This course is built around understanding and experiencing the transformation expressed in the phrase, "Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2: 5). This is not new to Kairos. All of our work is about this transformation. In Deepening Prayer, we look more explicitly at this work and practice.

Spiritual Direction Classes

Spiritual Direction is an ancient form of strengthening and encouraging one another in Christ (Hebrews 3:13-14) dating back to the desert Mothers and Fathers. It is a process where we become more aware of God's presence and activity in our lives, and learn to respond with our whole being--head, heart, body, and soul. It is directive only in so far as the director and directee attend to the movement (e.g. direction) of the Holy Spirit in the directee's life.

Spiritual Direction Training- This class is an evocative, experiential mode of being with directees as they attend to God's activity in their lives and prayer. The contemplative and evocative mode helps directees follow God's movement to its deepest place, in the midst of life's ordinary and extraordinary chaos. Click on the Spiritual Direction Training link above for more details.

Supervison of Spiritual Directors- Kairos offers the opportunity for newer spiritual directors supervision by trained, experienced spiritual directors. Click on the Supervision of Spiritual Directors link above for more details.

Spiritual Guidance Program

Spiritual Guidance Training- Clergy, pastors and congregational leaders are called to guide the soul of persons and congregations whom they serve. This introduction to the art and practice of spiritual companioning (spiritual direction) provides essential understandings and skills for this ministry of guidance. The Spiritual Guidance Training meets monthly on Tuesdays. Click on the Spiritual Guidance Training link above for more details.

Retreat in Everyday Life Program

Retreat in Everyday Life- Spiritual directors will find space in this retreat setting for individual spiritual growth, while gaining the skills to gently walk directees through the Spiritual Exercises. As the student nurtures the practices of repetition, imitation of Christ and intimate union with God, they simultaneously learn to walk with another, serving as a guide in their directee's journey through the Spiritual Exercises. The Retreat in Everyday Life class is not being offered at this time. Contact the office for more information.

Kairos in the Community

Kairos in the Community- Kairos offers a variety of programs in local communities. Contact the office for more information on any of these options:
