Retreat in Everyday Life

Kairos: School of Spiritual Formation offers training in
"The Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola"
For Spiritual Directors

Beginning in August of 2008, Kairos will offer a year-long class to spiritual directors who are interested in learning how to guide directees through the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola using the Retreat in Everyday Life (19th Annotation) format. Classes will consist of didactic overview of Ignatian spiritual practice and individualized supervision of each student.

"The Spiritual Exercises is about more than inner conversion and personal holiness. Fruitfully entered into, the Spiritual Exercises issue in a spirituality actively engaged in the world." -from The Spiritual Exercises Reclaimed

Spiritual directors will find space in this retreat setting for individual spiritual growth, while gaining the skills to gently walk directees through the Spiritual Exercises. As the student nurtures the practices of repetition, imitation of Christ, and intimate union with God, they simultaneously learn to walk with another, serving as a guide in their directee's journey through the Spiritual Exercises.
