Kairos Faculty Bios
Paul Burgmayer
A former industrial chemical researcher, Paul has taught high school chemistry for the past seven years while completing a master's degree in Holistic Spirituality with a certificate in spiritual direction at Chestnut Hill College. A member of Bryn Mawr Presbryterian Church for seventeen years, he has developed and taught a number of adult education classes at BMPC encompassing topics as varied as religion and science, spiritual autobiography, money as prayer, teaching as spiritual journey, experiments with prayer, Christian apologetics, and the nature of the Holy Spirit.
An amateur trumpet player, Paul lives in Wayne, PA with his wife, Sharon, a piano-playing chemistry profession at Bryn Mawr College and his two teenage sons, Alan and Andrew. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening with Sharon, woodworking, running, swimming, and poetry.
Peg Cromer Greiner
Peg has an RN with Masters Degree in Nursing Science, University of Arkansas; Masters Degree in Holistic Spirituality/Spiritual Direction, Chestnut Hill College; a Certificate in Supervision, Chestnut Hill COllege; and has practiced as a spiritual director and retreat leader for over 15 years. She has been on faculty of Kairos for over 10 years (nonconsecutive). Retired from nursing administration in 2007, she also teaches as adjunct nursing faculty for Eastern Mennonite University and Immaculata Univeristy in the areas of Holistic Health and Leadership. Widowed after 25 years of marriage, Peg is now remarried to a wonderful man as of October 2010. She has two grown daughters (adopted from South Korea) and lives in Lititz. She attends Lititz Moravian Congregation and is active in the Moravian church at a district level.
Marlin Good
Having completed 30 years of teaching and administration in private and public education in 2005, Marlin has served on the Blossom Hill Mennonite pastoral team for six years and has completed his Spiritual Direction Training program at Kairos in 2011. In addition to his love of teaching he has taken classes in pottery and has been honing his skills in writing poetry. He has a home restoration business. Formerly of Washington DC where he was a member of the Rolling Ridge Study Retreat Center, he now lives with his wife and 17 year-old son in Lititz, PA.
Donna Holstein
Donna is currently a Spiritual Director at the Middleton Center for Pastoral Care and Counseling of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. She is an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA, and has served as a teacher, Bible study leader, and retreat guide. Donna has found particular joy in coordinating the Labyinth Ministry of the Middleton Center and loves sharing the labyrinth on Kairos weekends. Donna received training at Kairos in spiritual formation, spiritual direction, and offering the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and has served on the Kairos Board of Directors for five years. Donna nad her husband Garry live in Eagleville, PA and have four children and seven grandchildren. In addition to her work as spiritual director, Donna's interestes include creative writing, poetry, knitting, mosaic/collage work, and hiking.
Phil Horst
Has a passion to see a world transformed! He has his MA in Holistic Spirituality/Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill College, and has been a spiritual director for five years. He was a student at Kairos for three years, and has been a team member for six years. He lives in Lancaster, is married, and has two children. Other interests include software development and photography. He is a member of James Street Mennonite Church.
Sharon Kraybill
Sharon, a spiritual director for ten years, attended Lancaster Mennoninte Conference Spiritual Guidance program led by Marcus Smucker and Marlene Kropf. She trained in supervision at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. A high school English teacher in Ethiopia from 1968-1982, she currently teaches in the Study and Training for Effective Pastoral Ministry (STEP) program of Lancaster Mennonite Conference. She has been an instructor in spiritual formation at Palmer Theological Seminary, from which she graduated with an M.Div. in 2001. Sharon is a member of East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church, where she has served on the Pastoral Care Team and taught Sunday School. She and husband Herb are parents of two and grandparents of three. She enjoys poetry and canoeing/backpacking.
Cheryl Lehman

Marcus Pomeroy
M.Div., D.Min. in Pastoral Counseling; Certificate in Spiritual Direction, Chestnut Hill College; Certificate in Supervision, Chestnut Hill College. Supervisor in the Graduate Program for Holistic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction, Chestnut Hill College; Retreat Leader and Spiritual Director.
Maggie Robbins
Is a certified spiritual director, earning her certification through the Kairos School of Spiritual Formation She is still active within the Kairos community as a spiritual director and a member of the faculty. Nationally and internationally, she has provided spiritual direction and facilitated retreats for groups like Youth Specialties and Simply Youth Ministry and the Presbyterian Church of Ireland. She also maintains a private practice from her home in Valley Forge, PA. She is the co-author of Enjoy the Silence.
Ellie Stratton
has a heart for companioning seekers on the spiritual journey and in the life of prayer. She is an ordained Presbyterian minister in the Presbytery of Philadelphia where she served five congregations in various capacities. Since 1999 her specialized ministry is spiritual direction at the Middleton Center for Pastoral Care and Counseling in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Certificate in training as a spiritual director from Chestnut Hill College. She is married to Bill Westhafer and they have two adult sons. A lover of nature, the Adirondack mountains of New York and the Delaware seashore are favorite places Ellie likes to hike, walk and swim.Lori Young
Has her Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Moravian Theological Seminary and her Masters in Holistic Spirituality from Chestnut Hill College. Lori enjoys leading retreats on various topics. She currently lives in Bethlehem, PA.
V. Barry Young
Has been a spiritual director for over 25 years and joined the Kairos faculty in 2006. He received his Masters degree in Holistic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill College in 1995. Barry serves as co-director for Spiritual Life Associates and the Next Step Program, both of Bethlehem, PA. He lives in Bethlehem with his wife Louise. Barry and Louise have four married children and ten grandchildren.
