Persons who have completed Spiritual Direction Training and desire ongoing supervision as a spiritual director or companion may enroll for facilitated peer supervision and nurture. The commitment is for five meetings during the academic year.
Class Locations
Currently there are two locations for supervision classes: Lancaster, PA and the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, PA. Contact the Kairos office for more information.
Participants often continue with a group for several years or more.
Program Overview
Kairos offers supervision for spiritual directors in a small group setting. Groups meet for about half a day, and include group prayer, professional enrichment, and facilitated supervision.
Professional enrichment has been a valued part of Kairos supervision groups. At each meeting, input and discussion explore some aspect of spiritual direction, spiritual formation, or personal spiritual growth.
Supervision happens in a small group setting and is facilitated by a trained supervisor. Other group members participate. We are all enriched by every person’s presentation. Group members are invited to offer a situation for supervision three to five times during the year, from a spiritual direction session or other spirituality ministry.
Attending to our own spiritual nurture is the most important way we nurture our ministry of encouraging the spiritual growth of others. Kairos supervision encourages personal spiritual nurture through group support and sharing, input that invites deepening spiritual practice, and additional opportunities for personal reflection and retreat.
